We had the most awesome dinner with Anton Malan from Rainbow’s End, pairing our vegan food with his amazing wines!
We had international guests as well as local visitors at our table, all having a very exciting and memorable experience of our vegan food, while the wines were extremely well received with many interesting combinations to experiment with.
The evening started with a chilled Pawpaw and Tomato Soup with Olive Rolls, which paired particularly well with the slightly off-dry Rosé that Anton brought along.
An array of starters were displayed on a platter, consisting of Beetroot Falafel Kebabs, Avocado Maki on Seaweed & Turnip Salad, Kale & Peanut Chilli Bites, Red Lentil & Sweet Potato Paté with Linseed Crackers.
Main course consisted of a Mushroom Medley on Pasta Alfredo, Tempeh Tempura with Vegetable Stir-fry & Pickled Radish, Waterblommetjie & Wheat Bredie with Roast Potatoes.
Dessert was our favourite Chocolate Cashew Dessert with Berry Compote.
Wines that were paired were Rainbow’s End’s Rosé, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Shiraz and Mystical Corner.
