Vegan Kitchen Adventures
Since the start of The Seedling Vegan Restaurant on 1 February 2016, we have had close to sixty workshop guests in our kitchen…
…learning about, playing and experimenting with vegan food in groups not larger than ten participants. Throughout these workshops the emphasis has been to prepare simple yet delicious and healthy vegan food within the scope of the average home cook, yet the few professional chefs that have attended have also benefited hugely.
The style and format of the workshops is informal, hands-on and full of both scheduled and incidental learning. Basics such as ingredient replacements for milk, eggs and meat are covered through practical examples and experiments. Then there are the many individual topics that surface as cooks get curious and want to know more about specifics that interest them. No two workshops are ever the same despite the fact that the basic structure is adhered to. The aspect of fun and unpredicted outcomes become the platform for ad hoc discussions and exchange.
